GLPP Cluster: News & Activities
CBERN has promoted research and activity around the theme of Governance, Law and Public Policy since 2007. CBERN participants and the Project Director, Wes Cragg, have championed a number of initiatives on this theme. These events have often focused on the extractive industries and rights and responsibilities in relation to law, regulatory regimes, and the influence of the Global Compact.
In 2010, a Governance, Law and Public Policy Research Cluster was formed. This formation was the result of a diverse set of initiatives that CBERN had participated in since its inception - initiatives that focused on various related topics, including corporate social responsibility, corporate and non-profit governance, leadership, regulatory regimes, policy, stakeholder consultation and legal frameworks. In 2011, CBERN joined a SSHRC-funded Partnership Development Grant with Stepan Wood as principal investigator, Competing, Coordinating, Co-opting (C3): Interactions of International Regulatory Regimes. Knowledge mobilization for the project will be a focus of activity over the next three years, hosted through the CBERN website.
