Genomics and Society Postdoctoral Position

As part of a large project based at the University of British Columbia, we are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join a team investigating the ethical and social implications of using genomics (the study of species' genes) as a possible way to enhance the ability of spruce to withstand the anticipated effects of climate change and especially the likely increase in insect epidemics.
This position primarily involves social science work including the analysis of interview transcripts, conducting statistical analysis of web-based survey results, helping to prepare manuscripts, and arranging focus groups and a multi-stakeholder, consensus-based process.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in political science or a related social science. Some familiarity with biology would be an asset.
