Job Description:
We are a non-profit organization that is keenly aware of the valuable contributions of our volunteers. Planet in Focus can’t happen without people like you!

There are many things to do at Planet in Focus. You can choose to volunteer for the annual Film Festival, at ongoing events throughout the year, and/or with office administration. We value diversity and invite volunteers from all backgrounds and levels of experience to continue making Planet in Focus the dynamic organization that it is.

Presently, we need passionate volunteers that can spare a little or a lot of time to work on:        

• the Mixed Greens monthly screenings presentations (Ushering, Lights, etc)
• Office Administrative support
• Marketing outreach

In return for your help you will receive:

• The opportunity to contribute your skills and gain valuable experience and knowledge through participation in the largest environmental film festival in Canada;

• Access to Planet in Focus 2008 screenings and events;

Volunteers will be reimbursed travel (TTC Tickets) and will receive refreshments. PIF will also accumulate total volunteer hours: for every 3 hours worked, festival tickets will be awarded (redeemable at the annual festival).     

Organization Description:
Planet in Focus is Canada’s premiere international environmental film festival showcasing outstanding and compelling works in all genres from around the world. Our mission is to promote the use of film and video as catalysts for public awareness, discussion and appropriate action of the ecological and social health of the planet.

Festival highlights include: screening of 90 films and videos; public panels; filmmaker workshops; an industry centre; School Program; Children’s Program; awards; and a curated Spotlight Program (2008 theme is Food: The BigPicture).
