Me in Brief

I am a PhD Candidate in Management. My major is strategy and my minor is organization theory. I am working on corporate governance in general, and board of directors in particular. I am interested in ethical issues, because my main research question is "Why directors of certain failing companies, in their fiduciary roles, were unable to prevent the meltdown of their organizations?" To put it differently, why directors fail to conform to business norms, rules, regulations and societal expectations; and how directors’ deviant behavior results in organizational deviance?

The research team I work with are all strategy discipline scholars, seeing the human-organization link, rather then sole macro-level issues, as the focal point in their research. From the same tradition, I am interested in studying ethics simply because it is a sine qua non for understanding corporate wrongdoings. Ethics adds richness to complex organizational phenomena. I inherently believe in the social embeddedness perspective of the economical world-that the extent to which economic action is linked to or depends on action or institutions that are non-economic in content, goals or processes-is the key to the organizational black box.
