Me in Brief

I am currently a senior associate with MSCI's Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) ratings and research. MSCI is a leading provider of investment decision support tools to clients worldwide, ranging from large pension plans to boutique hedge funds.

Pior to MSCI, I managed consulting projects at Innovest Strategic Value Advisors, an independent ESG ratings and research provider. At Innovest, I also worked as a sector team lead for ESG performance ratings of extractives industries. On the qualifications side, I have a Doctorate in Accounting and Finance from Kingston Business School, UK. My thesis explored institutionalization of Socially Responsible Investments (SRI) in Canadian pension funds. During the doctoral studies, I participated in academic projects including a comparative study of UK and Canadian pension fund transparency regulations and practices, commissioned by the National Roundtable for the Economy and Environment, Government of Canada; Human Capital based Investment Criteria, published by EU Lisbon Strategy Project, FEEM, Milan; and Potential of Responsible Investing in Asian Pension Systems, the University of Toronto, Canada.

Currently, I am focused on ESG ratings of transportation industries at MSCI and in my spare time, working towards a book on retirement funds and SRI. Also, proud mom of two little bundles of joy :-).

I have worked for the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce in Delhi, India and the International Labor Organization, Geneva, Switzerland. I also assisting Dr. Matthew Kiernan, founder and CEO of Innovest, in his book titled ‘Investing in a Sustainable World: How Green is the New Color on Wall Street’.
