Me in Brief

Petra holds an MBA from Simon Fraser University (1997) and a PhD from the University of Frankfurt. She is also a designated Certified General Accountant (CGA).

Petra has worked in financial institutions in Germany as well as post secondary institutions both in Germany and Canada. Currently, she is the Associate Dean for the School of Management at the New York Institute of Technology in Vancouver. She has a passion for teaching financial accounting courses as well as ethics and social responsibility courses.

Her research focuses on the communication of corporate social responsibility and how it is communicated. Her latest research deals with communication of CSR information on Canadian webpages. She is also interested in issues related to stakeholder engagement, integrated reporting and the impact of sustainability news on stock prices.
