Leader of three NCE applications for a Canadian Network for Sustainable Mining

CFI Innovation Fund 2000: principal applicant in $3.3mill. award for establishing the UBC Centre for Environmental Research in Minerals, Metals and Materials The Norman B Keevil Institute of Mining Engineering at UBC has been undertaking research in sustainability and CSR related to mining for some years. It has also attempted to integrate aspects of sustainability and CSR into its educational programs. In addition to teaching, the faculty work with graduate students and staff to undertake research in all aspects of mining in order to study and improve the industry for future generations.
