Me in Brief

Dr. MacDonald conducts research in business & professional ethics and health care ethics, (currently focusing on ethical issues in the biotechnology and nanotechnology industries), and foundational issues in moral theory. He is currently writing a book on business ethics in the biotechnology industry. He is a former Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Bioethics, Dalhousie University, and former Graduate Research Associate at the University of British Columbia's Centre for Applied Ethics.

Dr. MacDonald is active in ethics-related scholarly organizations. He is President of the Canadian Society for the Study of Practical Ethics, and a former member of the Executive Committee of the Canadian Bioethics Society. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Business Ethics,and a participant in the new SSHRC-funded Business Ethics Research Cluster.
