Me in Brief

Eugene is National Director of Oikocredit Canada, the Canadian arm of Oikocredit, a social investment fund that is one of the largest private funders of microfinance in the world. Oikocredit invests in more than 850 microfinance institutions and co-operatives in more than 60 countries around the world. Eugene is responsible for representing Oikocredit in Canada and developing investment-raising strategies to support Oikocredit's global lending and investment programs. He was appointed to the position in January, 2013.

Previously, Eugene served 13 years as Executive Director of the Social Investment Organization, Canada's national association for socially responsible investment. In that position, he managed SIO's overall activities, including education and outreach, public policy, networking and communications.

Eugene has an MA (Sociology) from York University, a Bachelor of Journalism from Carleton and a BA (Political Science) from Brock University.
