Me in Brief

John coordinates the activities of an international human rights program that includes research, preparation of briefs, and presentations before the media, Canadian parliament and the UN's Human Rights Council on behalf of partners in the Global South.

In the DRC, John works with partners to defend the rights of vulnerable populations, including drawing the links between resources and conflict, and violations of international human rights and humanitarian law, particularly as they relate to women.

In KAIROS' program in Sudan, John works with partners toward halting the conflict in Darfur, as well as monitoring the implementation the Comprehensive Peace Agreement between North and South Sudan. KAIROS is hoping to launch a comprehensive program for education for peace and democracy directed at youth in Sudan in the fall.

John has a PhD in Political Theory from the University of Toronto.
