The workshop- each session introduced by two speakers offering different perspectives followed by 60 minutes of facilitated table dialogue on the session topic.
Introduction:
A primer on ethics, what might it mean in the nonprofit sector- Kelly Ernst, PhD (Senior Program Director, Chumir Foundation) and John Rook, PhD (Chair, National Council on Welfare)
Session 1:
The big questions, ethics in the nonprofit sector, the importance of the conversation, do standards make a contribution- introduced by Corporate leader- Karen Schoenfelder (Manager, Integrity and Compliance, Nexen) and AFP leader- Stuart Reid (Senior Vice President, Ketchum Canada)
Session 2:
Advocacy, dissent, and resistance, the obligation to speak truth to power in spite of risks- introduced by Canada West Foundation or Imagine Canada (TBC), David Ohreen, PhD (Assistant Professor, MRU, philosophy and ethics) and Dan Shapiro, (Research Associate, Chumir Foundation)
Lunch and further dialogue
Session 3:
Practical ethics, problems and/or solutions, governance, funding- linked to a current issue, (for example, getting oil sands crude to market)- introduced by environmental leader- Dave Poulton (former Executive Director, Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society, environmental lawyer) and corporate representative (TBC)

Key Note Address & CBERN Annual Conference
